The ‘circle’ brings together the wives of diplomats of ASEAN nations along with representative agencies of regional countries in Hanoi.
This is considered a significant step towards the realisation of the bloc’s common goals. Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh stressed that women have continually played a critical role in the establishment of the ASEAN Community and the implementation of the post-2015 ASEAN Vision and common goals.
He expressed his hope that the circle would conduct diverse and practical activities to boost mutual support, understanding and friendship of the ASEAN Community. The launch coincides with the 48th anniversary ASEAN and the 20th year of Vietnam’s ASEAN membership.
