As an activity to mark the 50th anniversary of ASEAN foundation and in celebration of the International Children’s Day, Vietnam Television is hosting the second Asean+ Children Festival starting from May 29 to June 4 with the participation of children from 7 Asean countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and two guest countries of South Korea and China.
“The first edition of Asean+ Children Festival held last year was a success as it tightened the links among Asean children. Basing on that success, we are convinced that this year Asean+ Children Festival will be a very special one,” said Pham Viet Tien, VTV’s vice-president.
Under the theme Revealing Journey, the festival will open with performances of children fron nine countries which will be broadcast live on the night of June 1 on VTV1. Also a street carnaval will be held in the Sword Lake pedestrian area on June 3. The carnaval will be recorded for broadcast on June 4.
