On this occasion, one of the most important decisions made was the creation of the Council of ASEAN Chief Justices or CACJ. Subsequently, the leaders of ASEAN’s 10 judicial systems successfully created a memorandum of understanding to integrate the legal practices of regional legal systems. Chairing this event, Vietnam’s Chief Justice Truong Hoa Binh expressed his delight at Vietnam’s increasing legal importance at the regional level. According to experts, the meeting has promoted unity among judicial bodies in South East Asia.
