VTV.vn - "Dó" or poonah paper has been used widely since the 18th century in Vietnamese folk art such as Dong Ho, Hang Trong, and Kim Hoang paintings.

Over the past few decades, this rustic gift of the Vietnamese countryside remains an artistic challenge for artists who search for a breakthrough in Vietnamese contemporary art. Painter Vu Thai Binh spent years researching and perfecting the art of painting on poonah paper. Using water colours on thin poonah paper, he portrayed simple yet beautiful images of people while living in the countryside.

Painter Vu Thai Binh said, he is very happy to see many young artists experimenting with poonah paper. This will allow poonah to become more well-known to art-lovers in Vietnam.
