VTV.vn - On November 13th, the 2nd ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF) Workshop on the implementation of the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and other documents on responding to maritime challenges was held in Hanoi.

Participants exchanged views on new developments on the interpretation of UNCLOS, shared experiences in the enforcement of legal documents, especially on dispute resolution and dealing with emerging issues.

The workshop also provided recommendations to strengthen cooperation between countries and the role of regional mechanisms and frameworks in ocean governance. The ARF was established in 1994, with the main objective of building trust and strengthening regional dialogue with ASEAN being the focus. Currently, there are 27 countries and international organizations attending the Forum. Vietnam is one of the founding members.
