Some journeys do not start with the sound of an engine, but with a quiet concern: how to lighten someone’s dark path home, how towarm someone’s meal.
Pao Village lies nestled in the mountains. It is peaceful, yet still faces many hardships. As dusk falls, the road leading into the village is almost completely engulfed by darkness. With limited access to electricity, every step residents take requires caution, despite being familiar, as there are always carrying hidden risks.
The Kindness Bus brought something seemingly small, yet powerful enough to change daily life: solar-powered lights. With the support of local police officers in Trung Son Commune, the lights were installed one by one along the village paths. From now on, the journey home at night will no longer be filled with fear. The lights not only improve visibility but also bring a sense of security and peace of mind.
In addition to the lights, a television was also donated to the local police unit to bring information and knowledge to the community. In a place where many have never had access to such familiar things, each image appearing on the screen carries special meaning.
During the journey, in the midst of the mountainous region’s hardships, one morning in Bung Village became unexpectedly lively when a small “pho stall” was set up. Smoke from the cooking fire rose into the mountain air, carrying with it a familiar aroma. For many of the locals, however, it was their very first time experiencing it.
More than 200 bowls of hot chicken pho were carefully prepared by members of the “Mua Thu” (Autumn) group and their friends, drawing villagers who gathered eagerly from early morning.
Some paused, holding a warm bowl of pho, some paused before taking their first bite, as if wanting to savor the unfamiliar moment a little longer. Children blew on the hot broth as they ate, their eyes lighting up with excitement.
For many, a bowl of pho is ordinary, but here, it became something entirely new. And in that moment, people were not just enjoying a meal; they were also feeling the warmth of care and the closeness of human connection.
The Kindness Bus segment is part of the program “Kind Deeds”, produced by VTV Digital in collaboration with PSC Media, with the support of THACO (Truong Hai Group Corporation). The program continues to spread compassion, support vulnerable communities, and deliver meaningful values across Vietnam.
