Regarding the suspected food poisoning incident at Binh Quoi Tay Primary School (Ho Chi Minh City), many schools in the area have proactively implemented preventive measures to ensure the safety of their students.
Specifically, Lam Son Secondary School (Gia Dinh ward) has announced the temporary suspension of its school lunch program starting April 13th. According to the school, this decision was made in the context of authorities conducting investigations and testing food and biological samples related to suspected food poisoning cases that occurred previously.
During the temporary suspension of the school lunch program, Lam Son Secondary School will continue teaching as usual according to the timetable. However, the school will not be providing lunch. Parents are requested to proactively arrange for their children's transportation or prepare lunch for them. To facilitate this, the school will remain open to provide a place for students to rest during lunchtime at school if their parents are unable to pick them up.
The school also announced that it will settle accounts and refund meal fees, service fees, and boarding management costs for the days the service was temporarily suspended, in accordance with regulations. The resumption of boarding services will be implemented once an official conclusion is reached by the authorities regarding the meal provider.
Similarly, Thanh Da Secondary School has also announced the temporary suspension of its school lunch program to ensure the absolute safety of students, especially during the ongoing end-of-semester II exams. The school stated that it will only resume the lunch program after receiving the inspection results and official conclusions from the relevant authorities regarding the incident.
During this period, students will continue attending school as usual according to the timetable, with no changes to the content or hours of classes. The school will only suspend the lunch service; parents are requested to proactively pick up and drop off their children or prepare lunch for them.
Although the school is not providing lunch, it will keep the boarding rooms open so that students can rest at school during lunchtime if their families haven't been able to pick them up yet. The school also stated that it will settle accounts and refund the money for meals, services, and management of the boarding facilities during the days of temporary suspension.
Previously, on April 8th and 9th, many students at Binh Quoi Tay Primary School exhibited symptoms such as vomiting and abdominal pain and had to be hospitalized for monitoring. Immediately afterward, Binh Quoi Tay Primary School temporarily suspended its boarding services from April 9th to cooperate with authorities in investigating and clarifying the cause.
