The event consisted of nearly 80 meetings with the participation of 3,000 APEC delegates. This is the last senior officials meeting before the APEC Economic Leaders' Week slated for November this year in Danang City.
Speaking at the press conference, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chair of the APEC Senior Officials' 2017 Meeting Bui Thanh Son said this year's APEC would take place as the world experiences high economic growth.
Nevertheless, APEC member nations also face many non-traditional challenges such as aging populations, climate change, digital transformation and corruption. Therefore, international co-operation must be strengthened now more than ever.
Through recent events, Vietnam is highly regarded by the international community for its organisation of Senior Officials' Meeting related meetings. This is an important step for the upcoming the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in the central city of Danang.
