APEC host broadcaster VTV will make the fullest coverage of the event

VTV.vn - Since the beginning of this year, VTV as the host broadcaster has carried extensive news bulletins on Vietnam’s biggest diplomatic event of the year.

For the APEC Leaders Week to take place between November 6 and 11 in Da Nang city, VTV will concentrate the best resources concerning workforce and technological equipment to deliver the best coverage.

“VTV has covered all the APEC SOM meetings  since the beginning of 2017 and reserve a space in its news bulletin to focus on issues and events around APEC. The World Panoramaprogram has dedicated a number of issues on APEC since Vietnam has been transferred the role of APEC host country from Peru. On November 5, the program Events and Commentswill focus on the APEC Leader Week,” said Bui Hong Phuc, deputy head of VTV Department of News and Current Affairs.

VTV Center in Da Nang and the Department of News and Current Affairs are the main responsible units to cover APEC Leader Week. VTV in Dang Nang has mobilized all its staff including reporters and technicians to serve the event. According the Do Duc Hoang, deputy director of VTV Da Nang, the staff delivering APEC news are competent reporters who are proficient in foreign languages and sharp in international matters.

“Over the last month, the channel VTV8 of VTV Da Nang has run the APEC program which focuses on the event preparation and the SOM meetings, including the APEC ministers of finance meeting. The  program also airs reports on the city of Da Nang, its landscape and people,” Hoang added.

VTV News, the website of Vietnam Television also runs an APEC page with the latest updates on the APEC Leader Week. At present, VTV is installing equipment  at the International Broadcast Center and making it available for international journalists coming to Vietnam to cover the event.
