This is one of the prioritized concerns of APEC this year and an innovative event from Vietnam as this year’s APEC host. According to participants at the symposium, economic inclusion means involving all sectors of the economy, with special attention to small- and medium-sized enterprises, whereas financial inclusion in APEC can be seen in the 120 financial support projects worth 2.6 billion USD in the bloc, according to statistics from the ADB. Social inclusion is realised through the promotion of equality and ensuring the rights of vulnerable groups like the elderly, women, the disabled and rural communities among others.
