VTV.vn - 100 billion kilowatt/hour is the void that Vietnam will have to fill in the next three years in order to satisfy its thirst for energy, with the total power demand by 2030 expected to triple the current figure.

This has urged the government as well as enterprises in the country to speed up their process of renewable energy development. In this week's Vietnam in Close up, we take a closer look at these efforts, and get a better overall picture of the country's renewable energy industry.

According to experts, Vietnam's renewable energy sector is coming to the end of its "Preparation" phase and will enter its "Take-off" phase this year. One of the first steps in this process is the circular on the Prime Minister's decision on RE development issued in April, which is expected to be announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade this September.
