Civilian and military rescuers are continuing their search with 45 people pulled out of the rubble alive so far, as marathon rescue efforts continued with headlamps and spotlights after the sun went down.
The magnitude-6.4 tremor struck 34km north-west of the capital, Tirana, as people slept in their beds during the early hours of Tuesday.
This is the 2nd earthquake in Albania in the past a couple of months and the strongest earthquake in the country in decades.
