Vietnam's population is currently over 96 million people. In order to reach the goal of 104 million people, Vietnam needs to maintain its current replacement fertility rate which is 2.1 children on average.
Vietnam has been making an effort to balance the sex ratio at birth. The government expects that the average life expectancy by 2030 will be 75, 2 years older than the current number.
In order to reach those goals, the government will increase investment from the state budget and plans to raise funds from other sources to carry out population-related work.
