The conference is an annual forum for Vietnamese and international scientists to discuss recent advancements in the field of information and computer science.
This year, the organisers received 174 academic papers by 441 authors from 20 countries, covering a wide range of fields such as computer science, networking system, communication, software engineering, information system, AI and knowledge development.
The most widely discussed topics are AI and cybersecurity.
According to many experts, information system standardisation is the first issue that Vietnam needs to consider when building a cybersecurity system, followed by the application of new technologies to ensure complete system security with suitable equipment and staff.
Vice President Dang Hoai Bac of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), which hosted this year’s conference, said employing the most advanced AI technology in detecting cyberattacks is key to ensuring cybersecurity in the age of booming technology.
At the conference, the scientists also discussed new IT areas such as quantum technology and high-performance computing.
NICS has been held annually by NAFOSTED, the National Foundation for Science and Technology Development, since 2014, attracting the widespread interest of domestic and international scientists.
