Agricultural exports slow down
VTV.vn - After impressive growth in late 2016, Vietnamese agro-product exports have become quiet in the first days of the Lunar New Year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, export turnover of agro-forestry-fishery products in Jan 2017 was estimated at 2.54 billion USD, down 1.4% compared to 2016.

Among the major exports, rice exports were estimated to reach 325 thousand tonnes / worth 136 million USD, a decrease of 35.1% in value year on year. Meanwhile, coffee exports hit 287 million USD in Jan, down by 3.6% compared to same period last year. Notably, seafood, though considered as the leading export, also faced a downward trend, with a decline of 5% / compared to Jan of last year. The US, Japan, China and South Korea are the top markets for Vietnamese seafood.
