This year, the festival was attended by Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and other major state leaders.
The festival started with an incense offering ritual, followed by a drum performance and a play reenactment of the day Quang Trung Emperor led his soldiers to defeat 290,000 Qing warriors from China. The festival also features folk art performances, folk games, and martial arts exhibitions. For years, the Đống Đa Festival has become a venue for Hanoian people / to relive their patriotism in the age of the Quang Trung Emperor.
Also the same day, thousands of people have visited the Quang Trung Museum in the southern province of Binh Dinh to attend the Ngoc Hoi-Dong Da Ceremony. The museum is hosting various activities including drum dances, bai choi traditional singing, traditional martial arts and folk games.
