The meeting discussed the story of a Vietnamese bride who wished to have a better life but ended up being abused by the father of her disabled husband. According to reports, from the beginning of 2011 to June this year, there have been over 2,700 human trafficking cases in Vietnam, with 4,000 criminals and nearly 6,000 victims. In over 80% of the cases, the victims are brought overseas, mainly through the border with Laos, Cambodia and China. Recently, human traffickers have been using social networks to trick their victims into labour and sex abuse.
