The ceremony started with a recording of President Ho Chi Minh's voice reading his National Resistance call. The Voice of Vietnam was also the first press agency to broadcast this record, marking the 9-year-long struggle against the French colonists. Also at the ceremony, the Voice of Vietnam introduced a book by writer Phan Quang named "From Thach Han River to the Sword Lake", which recalls the stories seen by the writer during his years working in the battlefield.
