The programme of building 1,000 houses worth 50 billion VND (2 million USD) for needy families was completed after three months.
The project was sponsored by the Ministry of Public Security, BRG Group, SeABank and Ha Tinh Province.
The construction of the first 600 houses was completed and handed over to local people in 13 districts, while the remaining 400 houses are scheduled to be granted to needy households by the end of this year.
Each house is worth 90 million VND, including 50 million VND mobilised by the Ministry of Public Security and several enterprises, while the remaining amount is contributed by the budget of Ha Tinh Province.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang said that the project is expected to help needy people stabilise their lives and overcome difficulties, contributing to local socio-economic development.
