VTV.vn - The 48th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kuala Lumpur came to an end on Thursday. During the morning session, ASEAN members held meetings with Japan, South Korea and China.

The 3 Northeast Asian countries affirmed the importance of enhancing ASEAN+3 cooperation. Japan said that it will continue its security and maritime safety cooperation with ASEAN. South Korea agreed with ASEAN to launch the ASEAN-RoK Action Plan for 2016-2020.

The two sides also set a target of reaching 200 billion USD bilateral in trade turn-over by 2020. Both ASEAN and China agreed to upgrade the ASEAN – China Free Trade Agreement and to achieve 150 billion USD in trade by 2020. After the ASEAN+3 meeting, the East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting was held, focusing on strategies to enhance cooperation in the region.
