According to a report released by the disease surveillance system by the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, over the past three days, there have been no fresh suspected cases of COVID infection detected in Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, there had been three people infected with the COVID-19 in the southern city, including two Chinese nationals, a father, and his son, all of whom were cured and discharged from Cho Ray Hospital.
Most notably, a Vietnamese American who is currently being treated at the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases had tested negative for the COVID-19 on February 17 and is now eligible to be discharged.
In addition to these cases, 44 people who came into close contact with the three infected cases have spent a total of 14 days in isolation whilst being strictly monitored. During this time, none of them have shown any symptoms of having the disease. According to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, a total of 32 suspected cases have recorded negative test results for the COVID-19.
With regard to supervising people who have recently returned from areas hit by the epidemic in China, the field hospital in Cu Chi district has put a total of 26 cases into quarantine, while a further 53 cases have been put into isolation at health facilities at a district level.
Currently, there has been 36 people who have ended their 14 days of strict monitoring, while a further 17 cases continue to be under supervision. In addition to this, the total number of people who remain in isolation at home has reached 2,940.
There are now 2,648 people who are ending their follow-up period, while a further 292 people continue to receive close monitoring. All of the cases that were put into isolation have shown no signs of contracting the disease.
