Announced this morning, it points out that around 70% of wastewater from industrial parks goes directly into the environment without being processed.
According to a report by the World Bank, in Vietnam’s urban areas it goes up to 90%. 62 million US dollars have been spent so far to mitigate the adverse effects of this pollution on aquatic products. In some areas the water pollution has reduced crop output by 80%. The report calls on the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to draft a water pollution control bill and submit to the National Assembly.
