The routes include Mac Thi Buoi, Nguyen Hue and Ngo Duc Ke streets.
This year’s event marks the 10th anniversary of the Tet (Lunar New Year) Book Road Festival in Ho Chi Minh City.
The festival’s highlight is an exhibition with the theme ‘Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City in the revolution of national liberation (1930-1975)’. The exhibition will display over 300 valuable documents and images, including some documents published for the first time.
The books in the festival will be divided into four categories: ‘Books and Culture’, ‘Books and Knowledge’, ‘Books and Vietnam’s sovereignty’ and ‘FavouriteBooks’.
In addition, a series of activities, such as an exhibitionwith theme ‘DK1 Rig-houses - 30 years at sea’, Spring Newspaper exhibition of central press agencies and Ho Chi Minh City’s press agencies, an exhibition on Ho Chi Minh City’s socio-economic achievement, a space of the model of multi-size books combined with LED lights, will be organised. Through the activities, visitors willhave an opportunity to find good books on Vietnamese traditional Tet customs, Tet paintings and many other excellent publications.
According to Tu Luong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Information and Communications, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Press Centre, the 2020 Book Road Festival is a cultural event, aiming to serv the spiritual life of people and tourists during the Lunar New Year Festival. The event also contributes to improve reading culture and create a relaxing space for people. In order to mark the 10-year journey of the festival, this year’s event will be announce impressive figures on the festival.
