Vietnamese students win three golds at International Junior Science Olympiad

VTV.vn - All six Vietnamese students won prizes at the 16th International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) held in Qatar including three gold medals and three silver medals.

The three students seized gold medals including Dam Gia Bao, Nguyen Tri Duc and Cao Thuy An from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

The three silver medals went to Dang Minh Trung and Nguyen Hoang Trung from Hanoi-Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and Nguyen Dinh Hieu from Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted.

They are all 10th graders who passed two rounds of examinations by the Hanoi Department of Education and Training before attending the IJSO.

Last year, the Vietnam team won four gold medals and two silver medals, the highest achievement of Vietnam after nine years participating in the competition.

The 16th IJSO took place in Qatar from December 3-12 with the participation of 326 students from 70 countries and territories.

The annual competition was held alternately by the Ministry of Education and Training of countries for students aged 15 in order to challenge and nurture scientific talents.
