Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Thai Thu Xuong, stressed that the awards have a great significance in creating favourable conditions to encourage the city’s engineers and workers, to develop their creativity through the awards’ 22 years of development.
She expressed her belief that individuals honoured over the last 22 years would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, dynamism and creativity of the working class, by perfecting their skills to fulfil assigned tasks, contributing to the development of their businesses and building a more civilised and modern Ho Chi Minh City.
From a skilled-creative labour movement, the awards named after President Ton Duc Thang, has honoured workers and engineers who have made significant achievements in creative labour and training skilled workers.
They are workers who directly participate in manufacturing activities with a high sense of responsibility, earning credibility among working staff in enterprises, and becoming the key force in the development of enterprises in particular, and the city’s growth in general.
Many technical staff and production workers have been bestowed with the Ton Duc Thang Award, focusing on the city’s four key industries: mechanical engineering, power and electronics, chemicals, rubber and plastic and the food processing industry.
