Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha delivered a keynote speech addressing the situation, and proposed solutions for resolving disputes in the East Sea.
In his speech, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said countries were getting more dependent on each other, and security has become challenging. The key to working this out is cooperation.
"Peace and stability in the region are the common interest of all countries. Thailand supports and is willing to cooperate in order to maintain stability through peaceful measures based on international law. In this dialogue, we will discuss security issues in depth, especially tensions in the East Sea and the East China Sea. Thailand believes that ASEAN countries need to unite in this regard, because freedom of navigation is the interest of all parties. " - Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha
The Thai prime minister also said that regional security issues are currently dominated by many parties outside the region. Therefore, ASEAN countries need to strengthen their common voice to ensure stability and security.
