The contest was held by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism with the aim of promoting Vietnamese cuisine. With the theme "A journey of Vietnam spices”, the contest introduced and publicised more than 1,400 regional specialties and hundreds of spices from different provinces in Vietnam.
Teams from Hanoi's Lotte Hotel won first prize. This is the 3rd year the contest was organised. It not only honored chefs but also their role in promoting traditional Vietnamese food for both domestic and foreign visitors.
