This number exceeds the international airport's target for number of passengers, which was expected to be reached by 2020. To achieve its goal, Tan Son Nhat International Airport expanded and upgraded its terminals, increasing the number of parking slots from 41 to 46.
By the end of 2015, it is estimated that the Ho Chi Minh City international airport will receive 26.4 million passengers, including more than 16 million domestic and over 10 million international passengers.
