The event is the final part of a series of activities to mark 20 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the US.
With ceramic and silk, artists have created artwork that represents the belief in love and turns tears and violence into something beautiful. The kites and toys of Vietnamese children have also been portrayed in installation art. In this space, every artist has their own personalities, but the most significant element is the emergence of the conventional and the current.
"Yu Yu has been presented in many international exhibitions. Yu Yu refers to the joy while Vietnam Blue represents my own perspective on the beauty of Vietnam. A wide sky connected with the endless oceans of Vietnam also helps me to capture the integration path that has been opening", Mark Cooper, American artist, said.
American and Vietnamese artists started this project inthe middle of the year. They not only brainstormed the ideas together but also learnt from each other in order to create the pieces displayed. Every artwork is a piece of a puzzle, a story to think about, however, all of them still contain an interactive character.
The exhibition was the result of six months of work by American and Vietnamese artists. The event will run until January 9th next year. Some of the works will later be showcased in the US city of Boston.
