Specifically, Belgium will help Vietnam in collecting and processing garbage on the shore, as well as in and under water, alongside handling waste water from coal mining dumped into the bay. Total capital of the project is estimated at 129 million USD, and is expected to take place over 10 years.
Quang Ninh provincial authorities have shown their appreciation for the project, expressing their hope that it will significantly improve the local environment, and will bring more international, especially Belgian, tourists to the bay.
