Since Friday, it has been displayed at Bai Dinh Pagoda (Ninh Binh Province) and will remain until May 6th for people to revere and pray for peace and happiness. Thousands of people have flocked to the pagoda on the first day.
At 2.7 metres high and weighing 4 tons, the Buddha is the largest of its kind in the world, and sits on an alabaster throne that is 1.4 metres tall. Since 2009, The Jade Buddha has been exhibited around the world for everyone to admire and to take a moment to reflect upon peace. After revisiting Vietnam, the Buddha will be permanently displayed in Australia.
