According to The Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the amount of MICE visitors to Thailand from Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) in 2018 reached 151,087 travelers, making up a remarkable rise to 209% compared to 2017.
In the first and second quarter of the fiscal year in 2019 (from 10/2018 to 3/2019), Thailand welcomed 46,352 MICE visitors from CLMV market. Specifically, 18,352 visitors from Vietnam, 16,530 from Laos, 8,750 from Myanmar and 2.680 from Cambodia.
Vietnam is considered as the largest potential MICE market of Thailand with the forecasted growth of 7% in 2019. Meanwhile, Thailand is a strong destination and an ASEAN hub for meetings and incentives(MI).

Sharing information with the reporters from CLMV countries, Nichapa Yoswee, TCEB Senior Vice President, said this year, TCEB has selectd Bangkok and Pattaya to showcase the two destinations’ varied array of new products for international MICE. Reporters has a chance to experience convention venues equipped with with sufficient facilities to serve tens ofthousands of delegatessuch as ICONSIAM in Bangkok, Nongnooch Village, Takientia Community, Royal Cliff Beach Resort…
Besides the capital, Bangkok, Thai Government considers Pattaya as the gateway to Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Large-scale projects are already underway here include the high-speed rail linking Pattaya and Bangkok, three big airports, and the expansion of Pattaya’s U-Tapao International Airport.

Besides the campaign with Bangkok Airways, MICE travelers can also access to two other TCEB campaigns with many privileges. The first is “MICE Thailand Signature”, where 262 outlets are offering discounts up to 30% for foreign MICE travelers to enhance their experience in Thailand. Accordingly, the Outlets are classified into 6 categories which are heath & wellness, gourmet & cuisine, cafes & bars, lifestyle (shopping), shows & entertainment and classes & workshop (Muay Thai, Thai cooking, etc. ).
The second is “360 Degree Exhibition Success” campaign, which provides incentives for visitors when they travel to Thailand to participate in International trade shows.
