Remittances to HCM City hit USD 3.25 billion

Overseas Vietnamese remittances to Ho Chi Minh City in the first nine months of the year hit 3.25 billion USD, according to the HCM City branch of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV).

Remittance volume has been on the rise, up 6% compared with the same term last year. The manufacturing sector ranks first with 71%, followed by real estate with 22% of total remittance volume.

The amount of inward remittances to the city for the whole of 2015 is expected to hit 5.5 billion USD, up 10% compared with last year.
