To achieve this, the central province has been focusing on the sectors with comparative advantages, industries with high added value, and linking transportation projects.
So far the province has 13 municipalities recognised as urban areas. The urbanisation rate has inched up from 14% in 2010 to 17% in 2015. Total funds invested in urban development account for 44% of total investments in the province. In the future, Quang Ngai will take advantage of capital raised from the state budget and preferential loans from WB and ADB to develop urban infrastructure, aiming for a 22% urbanisation rate by 2020.
