To address the problem, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has proposed a project to build new pumping stations in the region for the 2016-2020 period. Recently, the Prime Minister approved the project, allowing locals in the delta to build and replace 3,271 / more than 3,000 pumping stations over the next 5 years. A similar project was previously carried out in the region, but only 47% of the goal was achieved.
