Product safety is important in ensuring public health and national export goals. Figures for the first 9 months of this year show that the risk of contaminated agricultural products remains high. Safety indicators have not improved from last year: Over 10% of vegetables and 7.6% of meat sampled tested positive for chemical and other residues.
As such, the Minister of Agriculture is requiring localities to promote the safe use of chemicals in farming, establish safe distribution channels for agricultural products, and tighten volation inspection procedures.
