CHARITY WORKS
Along with professional activities, VTValso actively involves in charity work through Vietnam Charity Fund. Since its inception in 2007, the Fund has mobilized more than 100 billion VND (approximately $ 6 million) in cash and values to help victims of natural disasters, war victims and poor children with congenital heart, etc. VTV also donated television equipment whichhelpsto solve social issues and humanitarian aid in Vietnam.
In addition, Vietnam Charity Fundalso implements long-term programs such as Great Circle of Vietnam, Operation Healthy Heart, Way Home.
By effective, practical, targeted operations, Vietnam Charity Fundof VTVhas created its credibility in the community and becamea prestigious charity fornot only domesticbut also overseas Vietnamese.
The ABU Robocon 2013 was held in Danang, Vietnam.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
As a major and prestigious television, VTV puts great attempt to fulfill its role in orienting cultural aesthetics by organizing and implementingmany political, cultural, social events of large scales. Among the typical examples are the General Assembly of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), Vietnam Robocon and ABU Robocon, Sao Mai, Sao Mai Rendezvous, Vietnamese Songs, Favorite Songs, Folk Festival, etc.
These events, though aiming at different audience and occurring in different time, allproved the prestige, influence of VTV and its efforts in the construction and conservation of the culture and creating civilizing entertainment for Vietnamese.
