In September 2016, Taiwan, China released a policy that loosened requirements related to visas for Southeast Asian tourists, including those from Vietnam. At the Vietnam International Travel Mart, which takes place from April 6th to 9th, the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan, China will work with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam to further tap into the interests of Vietnamese travellers.
In February 2017 alone, the number of Vietnamese tourists to Taiwan, China reached 29,000, a 91% surge over the same period last year. This is an impressive boost in the outbound tourism market of Vietnam.
In the time to come, with increasingly relaxed policies, tourism promotion and advantages in the economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations is set to reach new goals in tourism cooperation.
