The Vietnam Dong gains 1%

The interbank VND-USD exchange rate has been raised from 21,673 VND per USD to 21,890 VND per USD.

According to the SBV, the exchange band was first raised from  +/-1% to +/-2% the previous week to deal with the devaluation of the Chinese Yuan - the most significant in the past two decades. 

This has been deemed a timely measure, given current events in the Vietnamese, Chinese, and global markets.
