World Bank to support Vietnam’s draft law on ethnicity
World Bank will support drafting of the Law on Ethnicity in Vietnam
VTV.vn - Representatives of the World Bank in Vietnam and the country’s Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs met on Monday to sign a co-operation agreement on support in building a draft law on ethnicity.

Attending the signing ceremony were World Bank Country Director, Victoria Kwakwa and Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, Giàng Seo Phử. According to the agreement, the World Bank will provide Vietnam with 100,000 USD in organising research and pilot projects for the drafting of the Law on Ethnicity. These activities will take place in Vietnam from July to October this year. In the coming time, the World Bank and the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs will continue to strengthen co-operation and together, construct programme to alleviate poverty in remote areas and ethnic communities in the period from 2016-2020.
