VTV.vn - The northern and central regions of Vietnam are experiencing extreme hot weather at the moment, with temperatures peaking at 40 degrees Celcius in many places.

The hot weather is having a negative impact on people’s lives and livelihoods. In the scorching sun, shade from the trees has become a precious shelter for people on motorbikes. Only car drivers are brave enough to stop at the right place at the intersction. The concrete surface of the roads seems to make the summer even hotter.

The current hot spell in Hanoi and northern provinces is forecast to be the hottest this year and will last until May 30th. It is also predicted that it will not rain in Hanoi until the end of May. The good news is that the Hanoi Electricity Company will ensure electricity supplies for the whole city. 2015 is expected to witness records temperatures in the northern and central regions of Vietnam.
