The samples were collected from martyrs' cemeteries in Can Tho and the provinces of Đong Thap, An Giang, and Vinh Long. The Military Institute of Forensic Medicine will conduct DNA analysis to help establish the identities of the fallen soldiers.
This marks the 12th transfer of biological samples and the second time they have been transported by military aircraft in coordination with Air Defence and Air Force units.
The campaign has so far completed excavations of at least 41,230 sites containing remains, nearly seven months ahead of schedule.
