Nearly 8 million visitors from around the world arrived in Vietnam in 2015, up 1% compared with 2014. This figure came as a surprise, as the number of foreign visitors declined over the first half of this year.
Participants believe this result is attributable to the central and local government’s determination to augment the competitiveness of domestic tourism. Notably, in 2015, the government issued 15-day visa exemptions for visitors from France, Germany, the UK ,Spain, Italy, and Belarus.
