VFF chief requests more spending on Ho Chi Minh City sci-tech

VTV.vn - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan has suggested that the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City raise its annual spending budget.

It raises from the current 2.06 percent to 4 percent, for science and technology innovation. During a working session with the municipal authorities on Sunday, the VFF Chief commented that the city is on the right track toward technological development.

Director of the municipal Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Viet Dung spoke of the city’s advocacy for developing industrial and agricultural products, praising their high added value and eco-friendly functions. 

He stated that 93 local firms have announced the establishment of science and technology development foundations, spending about 7.6 million USD renovating technologies.
