Event promotes position of female entrepreneurs
VTV.vn - Over 300 outstanding female entrepreneurs met in Hanoi on Saturday as part of activities prior to the 126th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.

The event aimed to create favourable condition for female entrepreneurs to exchange experiences and confirm their roles in the country’s development process. President Tran Dai Quang delivered a speech at the event.

Addressing the event, President Tran Dai Quang highly appreciated the Vietnamese womens' contribution to the country’s development process. The Vietnam Association of Women Entrepreneurs, established in 2012, has shown its active and effective role in strengthening and promoting female entrepreneurs. During the event, President Tran Dai Quang also asked authorities to create the best possible conditions for entrepreneurs and assist them in expanding their businesses.

"The Vietnamese government always encourages entrepreneurs to expand their roles in the construction, development, and protection of the country. Strong entrepreneurs will improve the economy’s independence and competitiveness", President Tran Dai Quang said.

The President asked authorities to effectively implement the resolution of the 12th National Party Congress, as well as Decree No 9 by the Politburo on building and enhancing the roles of Vietnamese entrepreneurs, especially women, in the period of industrialisation, modernisation, and global integration.

"Local authorities and relevant agencies should create equal and favourable conditions for businesses, and support them in expanding scale and improving their capacity. Meanwhile, the role of business associations should also be promoted. Accordingly, the business community may further contribute to socio-economic development and poverty reduction", President Tran Dai Quang added.

Also at the event, the Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded the ministry’s certificate of merit to 9 groups and 79 outstanding individuals of the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Association. The Association also granted 7 savings books to heroic Vietnamese mothers.
