Coffee industry sees new path

VTV.vn - Until now, 30 thousand hectares of coffee in the Central Highlands and Southeastern region of Vietnam has made way for peppers and fruit trees.

This is attributed to its low competitiveness and low price, as Vietnam’s coffee is often exported without processing, according to Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association.

Economic experts recommended that Vietnamese coffee exporters invest more in processing technology to improve the quality of local coffee, especially as there remain opportunities for processed coffee in the Asian market.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development advised that growers replant at the right season and coffee should not be sold massively at present.
