Border guards sponsor students

VTV.vn - Border guards in the central city of Quang Tri have committed to sponsor 71 students living under extreme poverty near the Vietnam-Laos border, including 10 Lao students.

Each student will be provided about 23 USD per month from now until they finish high school. Donations, which will amount to nearly 19 thousand USD, come from the borderguards’ monthly allowance. The program ensures that poor students can go to school, and strengthens long-standing relations between the armies and people of Vietnam and Laos.
