Anh Vien wins bronze medal at World Military Games

VTV.vn - On October 7, swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien bagged the first bronze medal for the Vietnamese sport delegation at the World Military Games 2015 taking place in the Republic of Korea (RoK).

Vien finished the 800m freestyle in 8:39:91. The first and second places went to two Chinese rivals clocking at 8:29:83 and 8:38:41, respectively.

Meanwhile Vietnamese women’s volleyball team LienVietPostBank officially earned a berth in the semi-final. They may face off Venezuela, that lost to LienVietPostBank 0-3 in the qualifying round.

In shooting, Vietnamese famous athlete Hoang Xuan Vinh failed to capture a medal in the final round after gaining only 564 points which have ranked him 44th among 46 competitors.

Two Vietnamese boxers-Bui Trong Thai in 52kg category and Huynh Ngoc Tan in 49kg category, recently entered the quarter-finals.

The World Military Games 2015 will run through October 11.
