By noon on Sunday, authorities had confirmed that there were 54 passengers on board, including 4 foreigners. Danang is supporting each victim with 50USD and helping them get home. The city is focusing on resolving the aftermath of the accident before investigating its cause.
"This is a sad accident. It's a reminder for the tourism industry across the country, especially in regions with rivers and seas, to pay attention to safety", Nguyen Van Tuan - General Director of Vietnam Administration of Tourism - said.
"The national Traffic Safety Committee will pay more attention to waterway traffic safety, particularly waterways used for tourism. We will ask the locality to help monitor waterway traffic", Khuat Viet Hung - Permanent Vice Chairman of National Traffic Safety Committee - said.
On Sunday afternoon, the bodies of 3 missing passengers were found, and the remaining 51 people were confirmed safe.
