High officials in areas such as Trade and Investment, Planning and Development and Banking are escorting the PM. The visit carries great significance as it will be the occasion to announce the official establishment of the Vietnam-Malaysia Strategic Partnership.
Malaysia is currently Vietnam’s 3rd biggest trade partner in ASEAN and 9th biggest in the world. Last year, the 2 nations trade turn-over reached 8 billion USD. Over 80,000 Vietnamese are currently employed in Malaysia.
The 2 Prime Ministers are expected to discuss measures to accelerate bilateral trade and cooperation today.
